Le Mont Saint Michel - Monastery, pilgrimage site, prison, World Heritage. The famous UNESCO site is a magical place with an eventful history.

To photograph around the Northern Cape, the season of mid-May 2022 was ideal. Although weather reports had just recently been reported of meter-high snowfall, but on our approach the last kilometers were cleared and we could easily reach the top of the North Cape without snow chains.

Insiders call it the "Magic Mountain", the Heinrich-Hildebrand-Hill in Duisburg's Angerpark, on which the artists Heike Mutter and Ulrich Genth have erected a huge construction reminiscent of a roller coaster and called Tiger and Turtle.

The Camino de Santiago leads to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, where the bones of Saint James, one of the 12 apostles, are kept under the cathedral. If the long hike used to be a journey into the "I", today it is more and more like an ongoing sporting event.

In the butterfly house of Sayn Castle near Bendorf in Rhineland-Palatinate, the fluttering butterflies drive even professional cameras to despair.

On the Bay of Biscay in the Basque Country there are beautiful beaches but also wild coastal landscapes. On the Barrikaka beach near Barrika, the waves break on the various rock formations and, if the weather is suitable, the roaring spray can be photographically transformed into a fine mist.

The island of Gaztelugatxe in the Bay of Biscay served as a retreat for the Templars in the 13th century and as a filming location for the creators of Game of Thrones.

The "Puente La Salve" leads to the main attraction of Bilbao, the Guggenheim Museum on the Nervión River.

The Dune du Pilat is located on the Atlantic coast near Arcachon opposite Cap Ferret. At over 100 meters high, it is the highest shifting dune in Europe.
