Lhasa is the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region in China, situated at an altitude of about 3,650 meters in the Himalayas. The city is regarded as the spiritual center of Tibetan Buddhism. Key landmarks include the Potala Palace (former residence of the Dalai Lama), Jokhang Temple, and the Sera and Drepung Monasteries. Lhasa is a place of profound religious significance and a symbol of Tibetan culture.

Our entry into Tibet turned out to be difficult in 1993, but finally we were able to fly from Chengdu to Lhasa.
