The Yères River flows through the town of Criel-sur-Mer directly into the English Channel. The well-known cliffs near the village are up to a hundred meters high. On it are houses whose plots reach the edge of the cliff - no building sites for timid minds.

The colorful beach houses, which are lined up on the beach and invite you to take pictures, are particularly beautiful. Given the right weather conditions, the dark clouds pierced by rays of light in combination with the rugged cliffs create an almost gloomy atmosphere. But if you look at the picturesque beach houses, it gets a bit happier again.

If you follow an impressive avenue of chestnut trees in the village, you will reach the beautiful Chantereine Castle, which was converted into a youth hostel in 1884.
