Our World Trip: 50,000 Kilometers Around the Globe
In Indian mythology, the turtle Kurma, an incarnation of the god Vishnu, carries the cosmic mountain on its back. This mountain, the center of the universe, symbolizes balance and the interplay of elements. Inspired by this legend, we embark on our journey around the world, aiming to capture the diversity of our planet in photographic moments – from Dubai’s futuristic skylines to the historic temples of Tokyo.
Our journey begins in Frankfurt, from where we fly to Dubai. The desert metropolis fascinates with its ultra-modern architecture, especially the Burj Khalifa, which soars into the sky. In the traditional souks, we seek the golden hues of spices and fabrics, contrasting with the glass facades of the skyscrapers. Dubai reveals its true charm at sunset, when the city glows in soft light.
From Dubai, we continue to Delhi, tand further to Singapore, the green city of lions. The futuristic Gardens by the Bay, with their illuminated “mushrooms” at night, captivate us. From Sentosa Island, we photograph the skyline and the busy container port, impressive in the glow of the setting sun.
Hong Kong greets us with its unique blend of tradition and modernity. From the Peak, we enjoy a spectacular view of the harbor during the blue hour, when the city lights and setting sun create a magical atmosphere.
In Taipei, we are inspired by the city’s contrasts: historic temples alongside the modern Taipei 101. A trip to the lush tea fields in the mountains brings us to a world of tranquility and serenity, captured through our lenses.
Tokyo, the city of contrasts, is a photographer’s dream. In parks like Hamariku Park, we find oases of calm, while the bustling Shibuya Crossing captures the city’s dynamic spirit. In the distance, Mount Fuji majestically rises, providing a stunning contrast to the city’s hustle and bustle.
From Asia, we fly to Sydney. The iconic landmarks, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, reflect beautifully on the water, making perfect subjects. From here, we take a detour to Tasmania, where we aim to photograph the Tasmanian devil in its natural habitat.
Our journey then takes us to Vancouver, a city surrounded by mountains and sea. We explore Stanley Park and Grouse Mountain, capturing the breathtaking scenery in all its glory.
Traveling from Canada’s west to east coast, we arrive in Montreal. The historic old town, the impressive Notre-Dame Basilica, and the vibrant art scene offer a wealth of photographic inspiration.
Our final stop in North America is New York. The Manhattan skyline, framed from a distance beneath a bridge, is a classic shot we cannot miss. We also plan to visit the Albert Einstein Memorial, whose engravings carry a profound message.
After 2.5 months and around 50,000 kilometers, we finally return to Frankfurt – carrying countless memories and photos that reflect the diversity and magic of our planet.
Our journey is not just a photographic exploration but also a quest for the balance symbolized by the legend of Kurma and the cosmic mountain. In every country and city, we will capture moments of harmony and contrast – a tribute to the wonders of our world. We look forward to sharing these experiences with you!
