Sunsets in the clouds over La Palma

We have always been lucky with rented holiday homes on La Palma, but we were particularly impressed by this lonely house at around 1700 m above sea level. Since the hiking trails of the high altitudes started directly at the house, you could save yourself the journey by car and in the evening the sunsets in the sea of clouds over the coastal regions of the island were particularly beautiful.

La Palma (full name: La Isla de San Miguel de La Palma) is the northwest of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean and belongs to the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Its capital is Santa Cruz de La Palma and its largest municipality is Los Llanos de Aridane.

La Palma is one of the geologically youngest islands in the Canary Islands, the volcanism of which can still be seen in many craters and lava flows along the volcanic route on the Cumbre Vieja and the large crater of the Caldera de Taburiente. With 40% forest cover compared to the other Canary Islands, it is the most forested and is therefore also called Isla Verde ("Green Island"). Since La Palma has been spared from mass tourism, many places on the island have retained their original character. (Wikipedia)
