Camp Konrad, the Villa Adenauer in the Eifel
Camp Konrad from 1955, the so-called Villa Adenauer, is now an interesting lost place in the Eifler Kammerwald near Duppach.
Country
The Adenauer Villa, colloquially known as "Camp Konrad," is an unfinished building ruin located in the Eifel Kammerwald between the municipalities of Duppach and Steffeln in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. In the 1950s, it was constructed as a gift for then-Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, intended to serve as a retirement home, hunting lodge, and guest house. Due to corruption allegations and Adenauer's rejection of the gift, construction was halted in 1956. Since then, the building has been deteriorating and has become a popular "lost place" for photographers and adventurers.
