Boris Eldagsen

Boris Eldagsen (*1970 in Pirmasens) is a German photo artist internationally recognized for his staged photography and work with Artificial Intelligence (AI). He studied photography, art, and philosophy in Mainz, Prague, Hyderabad, and Cologne.

In 2023, Eldagsen won the Sony World Photography Award in the "Creative" category with his AI-generated piece “Pseudomnesia: The Electrician”. He declined the award to spark debate about the use of AI in photography. His works, characterized by dreamlike atmospheres and explorations of the subconscious, have been exhibited worldwide, including at the Fridericianum Kassel and Deichtorhallen Hamburg.

In 2024, Eldagsen showcased his first retrospective in Pirmasens and continues to advocate for discussions on AI in art. He also conducts workshops on the topic.
