Gadwall ducks, which are Latin for both Mareca strepera and Anas strepera, are a little smaller than the well-known mallards and, with a little luck, can be spotted throughout Central Europe. We were able to photograph specimens in Belgium, Denmark and Iceland.
The most detailed shots were recently taken with the new Nikon Z9 in combination with the Nikkor Z 400mm f/4.5 VR lens on the Baltic Sea coast of Bornholm.
