Dalai Lama – The Spiritual Leader of Tibetan Buddhism
The Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism and a significant religious figure. Traditionally, the Dalai Lama is revered as the reincarnation of the Bodhisattva of Compassion, Avalokiteshvara, who is dedicated to the liberation of all beings. The current Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, was born in 1935 in Tibet and fled to India in 1959 after the Chinese government occupied Tibet. Since then, he has advocated for peace, human rights, and the promotion of Tibetan Buddhism worldwide, receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.
