The Shetlands in the sea of clouds

Continent or ocean
Country

Where the North Sea flows into the North Atlantic, with a little luck you can see them from the ship, the Scottish Shetland Islands. Northern gannets and fulmars flying low over the sea announce the approaching coasts and finally, from the ship, the first structures appear on the western horizon in the mixture of dark and light passages. You can see the rugged cliffs that offer good nesting opportunities for seabirds.

Finally, the Muckle Flugga lighthouse emerges from the sea of clouds and you can see a large colony of northern gannets on its rocks.

As quickly as they emerged from the fog on the ship's voyage from the Faroe Islands to Denmark, they disappeared again, leaving behind the desire to visit these islands with the legacies of Scots, Picts and Vikings.
