Dunguaire Castle (Caisleán Dhún Guaire) was built in 1520 by the descendants of Guaire from the O’Hynes clan. It is located at Kinvara in the south of County Galway in Ireland. It takes its name from the original Dun of the King Guaire of Connacht, who died in AD 662. Dunguaire Castle was not a castle in the military sense, but rather a typical tower house of the 16th century.
Upon arrival, a saxophone player was waiting for us, with suitable sounds accompanying us on the way up to the tower house.
