Driving through the Atacama Desert, one cannot help but think of folk-rock band America's popular 1972 song, "A Horse with No Name." We were based in San Pedro de Atacama and from here explored the wonderful landscape with its geysers and salt lakes. In addition, we had never before been able to admire a starry night sky like here in the desert, the stars seemed so densely packed that their rays began to merge.

My endurance runs through the desert remain unforgettable - no sweat burns my eyes, but slowly a thick layer of salt develops on the dry skin.

In the vast expanse of Chile’s Atacama Desert, one of the driest places on Earth, stands an abandoned gas station – a fascinating lost place that tells stories of days gone by. Once a vital stop for travelers and adventurers, the station is now surrounded by sand and the relentless forces of nature. Its faded colors and weathered architecture blend perfectly with the desert’s rugged beauty, creating an atmosphere of melancholy and mystery. This NFT showcases a striking image of this abandoned spot, capturing the unique mood of the Atacama Desert as a window to the past.

The image of the abandoned gas station looks like a prediction of the future of fuel-powered vehicles - and solar power abounds here.
