Carcass Island, one of the Falkland Islands, is a remote and fascinating haven for nature lovers. This photo captures vibrant yellow gorse, bringing a splash of color to the island’s rugged landscape. We had the privilege of staying with Rob McGill, the island’s sole inhabitant, who has lovingly created a small, almost otherworldly oasis on Carcass. The island’s wildlife is phenomenal: nesting Arctic terns, inquisitive caracaras, and playful seals make every moment on Carcass Island unforgettable.
